A strange beast, but beautiful; one of my all-time fave design/motion graphics studios. Based in New York. They’re called Tronic.

A good friend of mine over in the US and A has just launched a new design blog with his compadres – called Graphic Hug. Yours truly will also be putting my two-penneth in over the coming months. Go and check it out.

Tim Muller is a Belgian Graphic & 3D designer based in Antwerp, he does work for international clients as well as developing his personal projects on the side. His ‘3D playground’ experiments are particularly gorgeous. I also just learned he went into business with the missus too, under the studio name of Mr & Mrs M – brave man!
Neasden control centre

The original article that is Neasden Control Centre is back in the form of a refreshed (albeit generic, ‘Inexhibity’ looking) website. These guys were one of my many heroes in my under-graduate days and I here they still work a lot with universities and colleges which is pretty cool. Hell – looking at this site, how much have this outfit been blatantly imitated over the last half-decade? I ask myself, is it just me? Have I become desensitised this style of work as my influences have shifted further backwards through time since my student days? However they’ll still remain seated as one of my all-time fave illustration/design companies. Enjoy!

Emil Ruder (1914-1970) is one of the lesser-known pioneers of the ever popular Swiss International Style. I found this brief bio of his life and career via Swiss Legacy on a delightful little blog called Thinking for a Living. You can see more of his work on this Flickr page – showing spreads from his book entitled “Typographie.” Thats another one to add to our growing list of classic design appreciation.

David Marsh is a graphic design student at the University of Lincoln and a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers. He’s also on the lookout for work placements, which judging by some of the promising work he has in his folio – ought not to be too much trouble. I suppose sunny Darwen would be too far to travel!
